The 20-year-old was battling for fourth position with the Sprint Cup Series points' leader who tried to dive on the inside as they entered turn 3 on what would have been the penultimate lap of the event.
Harvick's Richard Childress Racing Chevy clipped the left-rear corner of Logano's Toyota, sending him into a spin that cost him what looked to be a safe top-5 finish.
Once the race finished Logano parked his car beside Harvick's and went to confront him. A team member from the #20 car tried to keep him from doing so, but Logano's father Tom intervened to let his son walk towards Harvick.
Team personnel from both sides stepped between the two drivers who yelled at each other, Logano visibly irritated with Harvick.
"I got into him there going into [Turn] 3 and he just races with not giving people any respect and not much room," said Harvick, who finished the race in fourth place. "So, we just wound up getting together. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it goes."
Logano for his part, had harsh words for his Sprint Cup series rival, going as far as mentioning Harvick's wife on his remarks.
"[Harvick] let me go in the middle of the straightaway and decided to dump me in the next turn," Logano said after finishing 13th. "I don't know what the deal is with me, but it's probably not his fault. His wife wears the firesuit in the family."
Later Harvick joked about Logano's quotes in his twitter feed, in reply to a message from Sprint Cup series colleague Scott Speed.
"Well after his tv comment I don't know if he wants to fight me or @delanaharvick...my moneys on her!," read his tweet.
Both Logano and Harvick have some history from a previous incident earlier this year at Bristol, while battling for a top-5 finish on the final lap.
Logano's father Tom had his NASCAR pass revoked by officials last year after confronting Greg Biffle following a Nationwide series event at Fontana, where the Roush Fenway driver had an incident with his son.
NASCAR officials have not announced any action against either driver or Logano's father thus far.
